“Paws”

Hey! Paws the collie puppy is having a great day and he hopes you are too! He’s been busy playing and now he’s all puffed out… Time for a rest! 😃

In summer last year, we lost my Granma 😭Today would have been her birthday, so to honour her, here is a picture I made for her to make her feel better after a hospital stay….

I painted her a happy puppy 😊 I chose bright, contrasting colours to help her see him (the blue merle colouring worked well for this I think!) – she loved him and named him Paws! 🐶 She displayed him in pride of place so she could look at him ❤️

I used watercolour brush pens (Arteza), pigment liners (Staedler) for the outlines, and worked on 300gsm smooth watercolour paper (Aquafine).

Hufflepuff Badger!

Based on badger pattern in the Spring 2021 issue of Cross Stitch Favourites magazine

I made this for Father’s Day 2021, because my dad loves Hufflepuff things! So when I saw this cute badger pattern I just had to personalise it for him! 😃

I did change a few things about the pattern – added the scarf and more flowers, and tweaked the grass to better fit the hoop. Think it works well! 😃

Muffin Time!

MUFFINNSS!!! 😀 Yummy! Here’s Derpy Hooves enjoying a giant, triple-chocolate muffin cake, NOM 😀 A fluffy white cloud is the perfect place for a pegasus to chill… The muffin is decorated with a candle, as I painted this piece for a friend’s birthday 🙂

Acrylics and ink pen on 300gsm, hot-pressed watercolour paper. I wanted to try a slightly more realistic style than the show, so I added some feathering over the hooves, and studied bird wings to get a feel for how they move and would be positioned on a pegasus. I like how they turned out 🙂

Character is from My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and belongs to Hasbro.

Ball! Ball! An excited pooch about to leap for the Holy Grail of dog toys… a tennis ball! 😀 Watercolour pencils and ink pen on hot pressed, 300gsm watercolour paper.

Here’s a cute wee doggy getting into the festive spirit! 😀 I painted “Santa Paws” for a dear friend of mine, in December 2015. I used watercolour pencils and acrylic paints for the main picture, then outlined him in black ballpoint pen. Drawn and painted on watercolour paper, but the pretty pink background was added in Photoshop. I like his expression, and the colours in his fur – it took me a little while to get it right, but I think it works! Ho Ho Ho! 😀
